Mona Lisa Getting Older

Scroll down to see some of my work

Graphic designer Roberto Weigand and veteran photographer Alex Soletto were working together at Brazilian weekly news magazine ISTOÉ when their editors asked them to collaborate on a cover illustration for an article on aging. They carefully selected a model of advanced years who was able to approximate the pose and facial expression of Mona Lisa, and she was photographed by Mr. Soletto. Mr. Weigand then digitally divided the elements of the model’s hands and face and carefully overlapped them onto the respective regions of a digital reproduction of the original painting, seamlessly blending everything together to create an approximation of what Mona Lisa may have looked like in her senior years. All of this work was accomplished within one day’s time.
